We were approached by a client representing WJLX 101.5 FM, a beloved radio station proudly known as "The Sound of Waller County," with a vision to create a standout Hawaiian shirt that captured the station's vibrant personality. They wanted their bold black-and-white WJLX 101.5 FM logo repeated throughout the piece, surrounded by a festive mix of retro boomboxes, vintage cassette tapes, and classic radios — all the iconic symbols of their broadcasting world. The design brief called for a lively tropical palette, so our team wove in lush lime-green palm fronds, vivid hibiscus blooms, and sun-warmed yellows to ground the retro motifs in a fun, island-ready aesthetic. The result is an all-over print that feels like a summer block party hosted by the coolest radio station in the county — every glance reveals another hidden logo, another cassette, another burst of colour.
