We were asked to design a Hawaiian shirt for FCYPAA 43, a gathering rooted in the spirit of being "strangely insane" together, and the client wanted a vintage circus theme brought to life with a custom emblem front and center. Working from the circus-inspired samples shared for inspiration (never for cloning), we illustrated ringmasters, strongmen, acrobats, unicyclists and striped big-top tents across a cream pinstripe base in deep red, brown and black tones for that old-world carnival feel. The requested skull-and-clowns badge, encircled with the FCYPAA 43 "We Have Been Strangely Insane" motto, was placed on the chest pocket exactly as the client wanted. A mid-project update called for the word "HOST" stitched in bold red across the back, so we added it as a striking finishing touch, giving the piece its own bold identity on the back panel. The result is a wearable circus scrapbook, playful yet cohesive, made to be worn proudly at the celebration it was created for.
