We were approached by a team from Duke Energy Renewables — a group dedicated to managing solar energy and battery storage systems across the Carolinas — who wanted a custom Hawaiian shirt that blended their clean energy mission with a laid-back tropical spirit. They requested a blue and green colour palette, and asked us to weave in solar panels, battery storage units, mountain landscapes, sandy beaches, and swaying palm trees, all anchored by the "Carolina's Renewables" branding on the chest pocket. Drawing inspiration from the tradition of corporate-themed Hawaiian shirts, our designers built a repeating pattern where photovoltaic panels and modern battery units sit naturally alongside hibiscus blooms, monstera leaves, and coastal mountain scenes rendered in cool ocean blues and lush greens. The result is a wearable celebration of renewable energy and Carolina pride — professional enough to represent the brand, relaxed enough to capture that unmistakable aloha feeling.
