We were asked to create a Hawaiian shirt that would capture the wild spirit of whitewater kayaking with a playful, unforgettable twist. The customer wanted their passion for paddling front and centre, so we built the repeat pattern around a bold illustrated kayaker navigating churning blue rapids — seated in a bright yellow banana-shaped kayak that gives the whole design its signature sense of humour. Lush Pacific Northwest botanicals were woven throughout, including detailed green ferns, soft pink rhododendron blooms, and sprigs of pine, all scattered across a breezy light-blue background that evokes open water and clear skies. Every element came together into a tiled all-over print that feels like summer adventure bottled into a single garment — chaotic, joyful, and completely one of a kind.
