We were asked to create a Hawaiian shirt to celebrate a milestone 70th birthday bash, and from the very first brief, we knew this one was going to be something special. The client wanted a design centred around the beloved Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo — those charming white birds with their vivid yellow crests — so we illustrated them perched proudly among lush eucalyptus branches and scattered native berries. A warm, sunlit yellow was chosen as the base, giving the whole piece a radiant, celebratory glow that felt perfectly suited to a landmark occasion. We wove the birthday bash text throughout the pattern, letting it sit naturally between the cockatoos and foliage so the personalisation felt like part of the design rather than an afterthought. The finished shirt came together as a joyful, wearable keepsake — something every guest could wear proudly and look back on for years to come.
