This Hawaiian shirt puts a day at the races on the beach. Racehorses gallop along the shoreline with jockeys crouched low in bright red silks. Some run alone and others run in tight packs, kicking up white surf as they go. Behind them is a soft, faded island scene of layered mountains, rolling waves, a pale setting sun and palm trees, set in neat staggered rows across the front, back and sleeves. It comes in two colorways. One is a light sky blue with deep navy horses. The other is a soft pink with rich plum and magenta horses and a lilac-toned beach.
The background details are printed in muted tones so the horses stand out. They include lucky horseshoes, pale hibiscus blossoms, small five-petal flowers and little wooden signposts. On the left chest pocket is a bold black circular emblem: a jockey on a galloping horse in silhouette, framed by an arched wordmark, two stars on either side and a script line underneath. The shirt was designed for a country horse racing club's beach party race day, with one colorway for the crowd and a pink one for the organizing committee. It's a relaxed, sunny match for a corporate retreat, a club event or a race-day group outing.
